Shaun Reason - Chief Executive
Shaun became Chief Executive of The Association for Science Education (ASE) in May 2014. Prior to this, Shaun was a Head of Science before spending seven years as a secondary headteacher, taking on a failing school that quickly improved, receiving two positive Ofsted Inspections. Then making a career change, he become Chief Executive of a careers company, HCS Careers, which achieved four awards from the Sunday Times “Best Companies to Work For”. Read more.

Suzanne Dickinson- PA to CEO, HR, Officer Manager
Suzanne assists the Chief Executive, deals with the HR requirements and manages the office including all office provision, building services and the governance of all committees and specialist Groups. Currently dealing with the Registers (CSciTeach, RSci and RSciTech) administration.

Marianne Cutler - Director, Curriculum Innovation
Marianne has overall responsibility for curriculum support, publications and projects. She works closely with ASE committees and manages professional development projects.

Ray Hancock - Business Liaison Manager
Ray manages all aspects of all ASE's conferences exhibitions. He helps Field Officers plan and manage the Area Conferences.

Rebecca Dixon-Watmough - Business Liaison Manager

Rebecca has overall responsibility for advertising in the ASE journals, Annual Conference handbook and other promotional media. She manages schoolscience.co.uk website and works closely with various committees in producing and promoting teaching and learning material.

Karen Shoebottom - Professional Development Administrator
Karen provides administrative and management support to the Professional Development team. She supports the overall development and implementation of projects, in particular Primary upd8, upd8 Wikid and Segue and the upd8 Store. She also administers the Library Journal Subscriptions on behalf of Membership.

Cerian has been a science teacher since 1993 and a Field Officer since 2004. She coordinates a range of events for science teachers in Wales including TeachMeets, workshops supporting PGCE students and teacher conferences - providing high quality opportunities across Wales to enthuse and encourage interests in science.

Gaynor gets involved with members through TeachMeets, teacher newsletters and running CPD events using the resources from the RAEng. Gaynor collaborates with the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers and give grants to schools on their behalf.

Elaine Lennox - Field Officer, Northern Ireland (Interim)

Elaine has been a chemistry and science teacher from 2005 and has since become the Chemistry Education Manager at CCEA. She was appointed interim Field Officer in Sept 2014 and works with key educational stakeholders to raise the profile of science education in her region through coordinating a range of local CPD events inc. the Northern Ireland Science Festival in 2015.
