Active Assessment: a creative approach to assessment This session will explore how to use assessment creatively to make learning better.
Although the session draws on relevant research, the emphasis is on classroom practice rather than theory. You will experience a range of quick, simple and effective strategies that get pupils talking, thinking and learning. These strategies keep pupils engaged and motivated as well as enabling formative assessment to take place. This session will make your teaching easier and more enjoyable.

The event is open to Cardiff Metropolitan and Newport primary students and also ASE members. It is mainly suitable for KS2 teachers and trainees. There is no charge for this event and this is an exceptional opportunity for professional development.
Students will be able to purchase the texts from Millgate House at a reduced rate on the day. Please bring your cheque book or credit card. A list of the reduced rates will be available the week before the event. Welsh medium students will be pleased to know some main texts are available in Welsh and are thus ready to use in school immediately.
