The Association for Science Education

Developing skills through Science

Date: Tuesday 23rd April 2013

Time: 10:35 AM to 10:35 AM

Location : University of Wales, Newport

Cost : Free to ASE members - £3 non-members

Are you struggling to find resources to help promote investigative work in Science for key stage 2 or 3. Do you want to develop good skills in learners at KS2 and 3?  Do you want to work collaboratively with your feeder or cluster junior schools   on joint projects to give learners a head start in Year 7? Are you looking for a way to assess learners working when carrying out investigations? Do you want examples of assessed work so that you can make good judgements against level characteristics including higher levels 7 and beyond?
Tinopolis has developed in conjunction with the Welsh Government a key resource for supporting the development of skills through science. Their interactive Planet Science and Science in the News l also help with developing literacy skills in Year 10 and 11 learners.
There will be an opportunity to view these resources and assess their relevance for use in the classroom.

The event is free for ASE members but there is a charge for £3 for non ASE members
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided free of charge

Please encourage all teachers who are teaching science in your school to attend this event.
It will help with arrangements to have an indication of your intention to attend.

I would be grateful if you could  e mail or telephone me as soon as possible but no later
than April 19th.

Yours sincerely
