Cambridge Assessment Event - It doesn't add up

Date: Wednesday 15th May 2013

Time: 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM

Location : The British Library, London

Cost : 0

Date: 15 May 2013 Time: 1.00pm – 4.00 pm (registration and refreshments from 12.30 pm)

As experts in assessment, we believe that a sensible debate is needed to help construct a better maths curriculum for England. Our event will bring together a panel of experts to debate whether the ‘right’ maths is being taught in schools today.

How can we make maths relevant? Can we ensure that students get a ‘proper’ maths education at the right age?

Speakers will include: Lynn Churchman, National Numeracy; Tim Oates, Cambridge Assessment; Jennie Golding, ACME; Janet De Wilde, Higher Education Academy; Conrad Wolfram, Wolfram Mathematica; Tony Gardiner, British mathematician and Mark McCourt, Teacher Development Trust and Beluga Learning.
