John Sandford will present a series of lessons which he has produced with Earth Science Ireland. The resources will be available to all C2K My School users through 'Equella' with additional home activities for pupil use via 'Fronter'
- Working Science - Primary Science Workshops
- 9th to 13th June 2014
Coming to the region and will present a range of workshops to primary schools. These can be booked for individual primary schools.
- Skills for New Technicians - NSLC CPD Course
- 17th to 18th June 2014
This course is ideal for new or inexperienced technicians and is designed to give a grounding in the role within school or college settings. Sessions on this course will cover the role and responsibilities of a technician, supporting safe classroom practice, policies and procedures, and technicians skills.
(Please note this course is only available to technicians with less than three years experience).
- Chemistry Skills for Technicians - NSLC CPD course
- 19th to 20th June 2014
This course is ideal for more experienced technicians or those looking to further develop their skills. The course will focus on how technicians can support and help to improve the effectiveness of practical work in school chemistry (at both pre- and post-16 levels).
- NSLC A Level Chemistry CPD : , Building and Seeing: An Insight Into Cutting Edge Chemistry

This course is aimed at Chemistry AS/A2 teachers and will be delivered by Queen’s University’s researchers Professor Chris Hardacre and Dr Bill Goldring; and Dr Iris Suitor and Dr Angela McKeown from the Royal Society of Chemistry.
This course will introduce chemical reactions and examine the integral role spectroscopy plays in our understanding of molecular structure and reaction pathways. These concepts will be brought to life using examples and applications from world leading research in catalysis and molecular therapeutics. The theory behind this research and its connection with fundamental chemistry will be described in seminars and demonstrated through easy-to-use laboratory practical experiments being developed by the Royal Society for Chemistry.
