Ever been to a TeachMeet? TeachMeets are an informal and dynamic way of exploring a topic and are all about teachers getting together to share ideas.
You are invited to a free TeachMeet for Secondary School Teachers of STEM subjects hosted by See Science, STEMNET contract holders for Wales.
The focus of the event is on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Clubs. STEM Clubs are lunchtime or after-school clubs based on one or more of the STEM subjects - if you are planning or already running a club and you would like resources and ideas, this event will help you.
At this event you will learn about what a STEM Club can be and hear from teachers who have created successful clubs in their schools, providers of club resources and STEM Ambassadors – volunteers from local business who could add value to your clubs.
At the STEM Clubs TeachMeet you can...
- Give a micro presentation - 7 mins to tell us about what you are doing to inspire students in STEM;
- Give a nano presentation - 2 mins to highlight one great STEM activity;
- Be an audience participant - just come along, ask a few questions, eat cake and soak up the inspiration.
- Receive a pack of resources to be used in a STEM Club (worth £50 – funded by IET)
Your input is vital!
A TeachMeet is all about being engaged and inspired by colleagues. If you have something to share about your club – good resources, grants you have received, creative working practices, problems you need to solve – why not make a presentation yourself? Please e-mail or phone for more information and to book your slot.
