The Range Rover Evoque WISE Scholarship

22 July 2013

WISE are delighted to announce this exciting collaboration between Jaguar Land Rover and WISE to offer sponsorship to three female scholars wishing to pursue engineering at University or as an apprentice.

According to a report published by EngineeringUK, Britain needs to double the number of engineering graduates and triple the number of engineering apprentices by 2020 to meet industry needs. At present, just thirteen per cent of engineering undergraduates are female, aproblem Land Rover is determined to address. In addition to the Range RoverEvoque WISE Scholarship, Land Rover already runs specific training schemes to support ambitious female engineers.

The Range Rover Evoque WISE Scholarship will provide a £9,000 bursary to three female students or apprentices who would like to explore a career or further studies in engineering. In addition the winners will be provided with mentoring support from both Land Rover senior engineers and WISE representatives.

If you or a friend or family member have finished their GCSE's or 'A' levels and are applying for an engineering degree or apprenticeship then you could be eligible to apply for this scholarship opportunity.

Jaguar Land Rover and WISE have got together to encourage more girls to consider engineering careers by offering this scholarship of £1000 per year for 3 years towards the cost of studying the subject. The successful applicant will also be a WISE and Jaguar Land Rover ambassador for the duration of the scholarship.

The Range Rover Evoque WISE Scholarship was launched earlier this month by Zara Phillips at the Royal Windsor Horse Show; to hear her talking about the role of women in engineering in the UK watch the video here. This is a fantastic opportunity for young women considering a future in engineering to kick-start their training and career.
