KS3/KS4 Courses

“Like so many science departments around the country, we have Biologists teaching Physics! My staff have returned from training courses enthused, more confident and armed with lots of 'tricks' to enhance teaching and learning. Not only have they praised the quality of the training they received but they also had a lot of fun!” Paul Coley, Head of Science, George Dixon Academy

Engage and inspire your students to success at Key Stage 4 by ensuring excellence at Key Stage 3. Delegates will learn:

  • The key principles underpinning KS3 and KS4 Physics
  • To deliver starter activities with the ‘wow’ factor
  • To kick start learning by linking learning to the world of the student
  • To plan experiments which challenge pupils to engage in real research
  • To use the content as a vehicle to deliver ‘HSW’ effectively
  • How to tackle misconceptions and promote a good understanding of the key concepts

Who should attend?

  • All teachers of KS3, whatever their previous experience
  • Non-specialists delivering Physics at KS4
  • KS2 Science teachers looking to develop their subject knowledge
  • Those with responsibility for developing schemes of learning
  • Science technicians will find the courses extremely useful
