Special Events

There is lots going on at ASE Annual Conference 2017 this year. We hope you'll be joining us in January for some of these special events and more!

Please note that events in the exhibition can be attended free of charge with an exhibition-only pass however all other areas of the conference require full registration. See our booking page for details.

Wellcome Trust - Teachers’ Lunch

Day: Friday 6th January 2017, 12:00pm - 2:00pm

Location: Meadow Suite, University of Reading

For:  Practising Teachers, Teacher trainers and Technicians.

Join us for a FREE lunch where you can find out how we support science teaching across the UK. Pick up resources, hear about current research we have supported and find out how we support continuing professional development via the National STEM Learning Centre and Project ENTHUSE. Schools' Exhibition in Partnership with Science on Stage

Date: Friday 6th January 2017, 09:00am - 12:00 pm

Location: Students' Union, University of Reading

Come to the Students’ Union on Friday morning to meet teachers and students from across the UK. Each has created a display of STEM work from their classroom or afer-school club. The exhibition also includes the inspirational teachers who have been shortlisted to represent the UK at Science on Stage in Hungary in June 2017. Find out more

STEM Careers Networking

Date: Thrusday 5th January, 09:30am - 11:00am

Location: Palmer G05, University of Reading

The informal, drop-in session aims to bring together businesses, learned societies and professional bodies who can offer teachers support in bringing STEM careers into the classroom. Meet representatives from STEM businesses and find out about the career opportunities for students with STEM skills. Find out more

ASE Primary pop-up

Date: Friday 6th January 2017, 12:15pm - 13:45pm

Location: Palmer G05, University of Reading

Come and join us for an informal celebration of inspirational ideas for the classroom with the ASE Primary Committee. Teachers from across the UK get together and share great practice, activities and ideas you can put into practice simply and easily.

Date: Friday 6th January, 13:00pm - 14:00 pm

A tweetup is an event where people who Twitter come together to meet in person. Meet others from the #ASEchat network or simply come along to find out more.

ASE Members’ Reception

Date: Thursday 5th January, 17:00 - 18:30pm

Everyone is welcome to come to this free reception held at the ASE Hub in the Exhibition Marquee. If you are new to the Annual Conference, this is the perfect chance to meet our team and make new friends. Just drop in between 5pm and 6.30pm.

ASE TeachMeets @ Annual Conference

Dates: Thursday 5th January 2017 16:00-17:30 (FE Focus) and Friday 6th January 2017 16:00-17:30

Location: Exhibition Marquee, The Pearson Teaching, Learning and Assessment Hub
