Summary
This ASE National Technicians Conference will be delivered as a partnership between the Association for Science Education and the National Science Learning Centre. Last year’s conference saw over 250 technicians attend this inspiring and popular event. The programme includes a wide variety of relevant workshops and lectures including keynote lectures by Professor Kathy Sykes, Dr David Jenkins from the University of York and Chris Peel the former technician advisor at CLEAPSS. This year we have sessions on physics, chemistry and biology, including microbiology, primary liaison, dissections, health and safety, keynote lectures and using iPads/tablets and apps. There will also be a large exhibition and time to meet suppliers during drop in sessions. The conference programme runs over two days with the same optional workshops on both days, giving participants the opportunity to attend a greater mix of sessions. Participants can choose to attend either one or both days and on the evening of Wednesday 03 July and Thursday 04 July for those who choose to stay over there will be planned evening events. The conference is now open for bookings; all participants who book onto the conference will be given the first opportunity to book the optional sessions once these are confirmed.
