SAW Showcase - Taking research science into schools
This book showcases 15 Science, Art and Writing (SAW) projects in which scientists worked with teachers, artists, and writers to take their research science into local schools. Collectively the projects covered a diverse range of topics including soil bacteria, photosynthesis, fractals, plant-derived natural products, DNA, genetic modification, emulsions and the human gut. The book presents poetry and artwork from each of the schools, along with an overview of the science covered and the responses of the children, teachers and others involved.
