- ASE promotes excellence in teaching and learning science in schools and colleges. Working closely with professional bodies, industry, business and policy makers, ASE provides a UK-wide network to share good ideas, tackle challenges in science teaching, develop resources and foster high quality continuing professional development.
- The Annual Conference of the ASE is one of the largest science education continuing professional development events in the world.
- It typically involves over 2500 science teachers from all phases of science education, who choose from a selection of over 350 talks, workshops, seminars and booked courses during its three day run.
- It also involves a major exhibition of science textbooks and resources, materials and apparatus, which, in Reading, will fill a marquee of 3100 square metres.
- International Day preceding main conference, on Wednesday 7 January 2009.
- Details of this event will be available Autumn 2008 but in order to take full advantage of the opportunities offered schools and colleges are advised to include this event in their own CPD planning so that the teachers, technicians and teaching assistants can have maximum access.
- Delegates can attend for one, two or three days.
