Richard Needham CSciTeach has been elected to Chair the Association during the term 2010/2011. Richard taught science in a comprehensive school for 25 years before brief spells in higher education and the commercial sector.

He now works for the National Science Learning Centre and also runs a consultancy firm. His expertise is using ICT to help children learn science.

He has been chair of ASE West Yorkshire Section for many years, and currently is also secretary of ASE Yorkshire Region and Region Representative on ASE Council. He is a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and Council link with 11-19 Committee.

Richard’s stated aim is to ensure that ASE accurately reflects the concerns of its members, and supports them in providing a professional service in a dynamic and challenging environment.
