Anastasia Christakou is Lecturer in Developmental Psychopathology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Reading. She studied Biology at Imperial College London before moving to Cambridge for her doctoral research with Professor Barry Everitt and Trevor Robbins.

Following her PhD, she trained with Patrick Haggard at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (UCL) and with Katya Rubia the Institute of Psychiatry (King's). Her research investigates the brain mechanisms of motivated decision-making, their development across the life-span and their implication in psychopathology.
