Dr Isenberg obtained his BSc and PhD degrees in physics at King's College London. Subsequently he was a research Fellow at the Argonne National
Laboratory, near Chicago in the USA.
He returned to the UK to a lectureship intheoretical physics at the University of Kent, where he spent the rest of his career. He is well known, publicly, for his popular lecture-demonstrations. For over 25 years he organized the annual national British Physics Olympiad Competition and has been active in the Institute of Physics. He was awarded the Institute of Physics Bragg Medal in 1998, and an MBE in 2008.
