Dr Graham Schafer is a Senior Lecturer in Cognitive Development at the University of Reading. Graham studied Engineering at Cambridge University, working in industry before returning to study psychology.

He took a degree in Experimental Psychology at Oxford University, winning the George Humphrey Prize in Experimental Psychology, and stayed to complete a doctorate, with a thesis entitled ‘Word Learning in Infancy’ in 1998. He has been at Reading ever since.

His interests include typical and atypical cognition and its development, with a particular interest in the representation of words and concepts. Outside the university he likes backpacking, swimming, and reading.
