New Science GCSEs are delayed until September 2016

6 September 2013

Following correspondence between Ofqual and the Secretary of State, Ofqual have announced a delay in first teaching of all reformed GCSE subjects (except English and Mathematics) by one year until September 2016. ASE is supportive of this delay as this will provide the necessary time to address the considerable concerns on GCSE reform effectively.

New English and Mathematics GCSEs will be brought in for first teaching from September 2015, in line with the original timetable.
