International Teachers in the UK: Discussion Forum

ASE recognises the vital role that our international colleagues who are teaching in the UK are playing in the education system.  With active recruitment from abroad to address teacher shortages, your role in shaping the next generation of scientists is invaluable. However, the transition to the British education systems may feel daunting, with limited support and resources available to ease the process.

ASE, as a professional community, is committed to supporting you and your colleagues as you grapple with cultural, pedagogic, curriculum differences and more.   As an internationally trained science educator teaching or training to teach in the UK, you've embarked on a journey that presents both exciting opportunities and unique challenges.

We are hosting this event to open a conversation with you and the wider science community about your experiences so far and discuss ways forward to support you.

This event is open to anyone in the science education community whether you are directly impacted by this or a supporter.

Wednesday 26th June at 4pm online via Zoom

After a short introduction to the context we will open out to discuss the challenges and explore the possible solutions.

If you are not able to join us on 26th June but would like to feed into the conversation about help shape our offer going forward please do not hesitate to contact us at rebeccapeacock@ase.org.uk
