ASE collaborated with partners from nine other European countries in the development of a free on-line tool to aid learning about the impact on humans of `earth science' topics: volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, landslips and coastal erosion. The team consists of earth scientists, teacher trainers, teacher groups and software engineers. The materials produced are available in all the main European languages.
The project is part of the EU's Leonardo programme of educational projects and is called the `OIKOS' project - the Greek word for `home' or `habitat'.
