The Equipment Flashcards show the name, a coloured
photograph and a two-dimensional line diagram for the
main scientific equipment that you will find in a science
laboratory. There are two pieces of equipment on each
A4 page.

Print out a set of the Equipment Flashcards
and laminate them.
- The printed cards can make effective labels for
equipment cupboards.
- If cut up into the three sections (photograph, name
and diagram) they can be used in a mix and match type
activity with students.
- Stick selected cards onto a white board to show
which pieces of equipment students need for a practical.
- When introducing new equipment hold up the card,
pronounce the words and get the students to say the
names. They can point to where the pieces of equipment
are kept in the laboratory. Emphasise how the line
diagrams have been drawn, showing this on the board
and get the students to try this.
You can produce your own line diagrams of equipment
in the DiagramMaker resource.

The Equipment Flashcards have been divided into
four separate files to download, since they are large
due to the photographic detail included.
