Full Details

Free Science meeting with people sharing short ideas and resources for effective teaching, come and get ideas for your teaching and meet other students and teachers in the area.

We would particularly welcome discussion and ideas for teaching for lower attaining students, and SEND students including (but not limited to) autism, global delay/moderate learning difficulties, auditory and visual impairment, dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia, Down’s Syndrome

Anyone who has experience and ideas they could share would be especially welcome to contribute. This might include ways of developing Literacy, activities and strategies; using a Teacher and Teaching Assistant toolkit; Thinking skills and effective use of IT.

Learning science can be a positive experience for children with special educational needs and disabilities. Good resources can support teachers to provide an active and stimulating learning environment and highlight the wealth of support on offer from other organizations. We can show you were to go to for advice, written by teachers in the field, offering valuable strategies to use with SEND students.

In June 2018 Ofsted reported data on pupils who leave secondary school before the end of key stage 4. One of their findings is that this includes a disproportionately high number of children with SEN. So how does your school match up? And some schools had particularly high drop-out rates, so this might be something they will be looking at on future visit.

Look forward to seeing you all there and please note:

Data Harvest are sponsoring this event with a raffle prize on the night - Wireless Bluetooth Temperature sensor worth £79.00.

In addition there will be a draw at the end of the year for all those attending ASE teachmeets

- Primary a Vu+ Data Logger worth £125.00

- Secondary a V-Log4 Bluetooth and USB data logger, Dynamics system and two light gates worth £403.00.
