ASE TechMeet7 Online
This one hour, online get together is for science technicians to share ideas, projects and good practice during the Coronavirus Lockdown.
About the Event
This one hour get together with other technicians provides an opportunity to share ideas, projects and good practice between other technicians in school and colleges across the country.
Each online TechMeet has six, five minute presentation slots for you to share your expertise with technicians across the country. These slots are given on a first come first served basis, please email Simon Quinnell at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to share something with the other technicians and book a five minute slot to do so. For those watching its a great way to share ideas and you can ask questions after each presentation.
About the host
Simon Quinnell CSciTeach, is the Curriculum Area Lead for the Science PGCE programme at the University of York. Simon started as a school science technician before gaining his PGCE and then worked as a teacher. In 2005 he left Tower Hamlets College to become a professional development leader at the National Science Learning Centre (STEM Learning). During his time at STEM Learning he was involved in many science education projects and designing and delivering CPD experiences for science teachers and technicians from across the UK. He is very closely involved with science education organisations such as the ASE, RSC, IOP, SAPS and CLEAPSS.
Simon has a number of roles at the ASE: he is a member of the Laboratory Technicians Registration Board and Committee, a member of the Trustee Body and also a member of the Education Group. Simon is also working as part of the Chair Trio for the ASE.
