I started my career in education in 1998 working as a science technician across all three sciences in a large east London school, then in 2000 took on the role of senior technician responsible 8 labs and a team of two other technicians. Then in 2002 I started work a Tower Hamlets College as a biology technician and then developed this role to teach biology as a lecturer at the college. In 2005 I was appointed senior technician and then national technicians lead at the National Science Learning Centre (later to become STEM Learning). I set up the technicians service and the laboratory areas and over 13 years developed a comprehensive CPD programme for technicians covering all 3 sciences and career stages. As part of this programme I designed and delivered the STACS programme for senior technicians and accredited course awarded by the University of York. My expertise are in all aspects of practical work, technicians development, technical services and leadership and management in education.
