The Critical Thinking for Achievement project provides free CPD for primary and secondary teachers of geography and science. Funded by the DfE and delivered by the GA and ASE, its aim is to strengthen teachers'
subject knowledge and build confidence and capability in curriculum planning and teaching.

10.00 – 12.00 An introduction to ‘Critical Thinking for Achievement’
A taster of our popular core course looking at the critical use of evidence in geography and
science.
12.00 – 12.45 Lunch
12.45 – 14.30 Launch of our ‘Using data better’ enhanced programme
Practical support to encourage the critical evaluation of data and an opportunity to get hands-on
experience with the award-winning service Digimap for schools
14.30 – 15.30 Tour of the Ordnance Survey Head Office
A chance to see OS mapping in action and find out how the country’s maps are researched and
put together
