Membership Benefits

Join the community

Community

From presenting at an event or annual conference to writing for our online journals or joining one of our regional or national committees, there are plenty of opportunities for members to network and gain valuable skills through supporting ASE activity.

CPD and networking events

Professional Learning

Access to free or discounted (up to 50%) professional learning and networking events, including the ASE’s flagship annual conference, free regional/online TeachMeets (where you can network with other professionals, hear updates and share best practice) and a wide range of regional and topic based webinars.

Advocacy: get your views heard

Advocacy

As a membership organisation, one of our key roles is to advocate with policy makers and implementors on behalf of our members, providing a critical conduit through which science educators can represent their views. Our responses are always guided by a principle of collectivity - with membership views being canvassed both generally, and through the specific member-led commitees that represent the relevant interested parties.

Free access to resources and guidance

Access hundreds of resources via our member resource hub, curated by primary, secondary, post-16 and technician. From established best practice guidance documents to video resources, activities and award-winning topic based tools like ‘Why you’ll never catch smallpox’ and our ‘Mary Anning – a fossil hunter’s story’.

Professional recognition

The Association for Science Education, as a licensed body of the Science Council, is empowered under the terms of its Royal Charter to administer Professional Registration awards for RSci, RSciTech and CSciTeach. Members can apply through the ASE to achieve the awards.
