ASE Members Win National CPD Awards

27 September 2017

Science Council announces winners of the CPD Awards 2017. ASE would like to congratulate David Overton CSciTeach on winning this award for exceptional continuing professional development as a Chartered Science Teacher. We would also like to congratulate Nicholas Dunn for his commendation in the Registered Scientist category.

ASE is one of over 29 licensed professional bodies with many hundreds of registrants. We are therefore immensely proud that two of our members have received this recognition (Only 4 awards and 5 commendations were awarded in total!).

  • CPD Award Winner - CSciTeach, David Overton, member of The Association for Science Education
  • CPD Award Commendation - RSci, Nicholas Dunn, member of The Association for Science Education

The annual CPD Awards is designed to celebrate the continuing professional development (CPD) efforts and achievements of registrants from across the registers: Registered Science Technician (RSciTech), Registered Scientist (RSci), and Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach). Now in its third year, the awards offer them recognition for their broad and diverse range of professional activities.

To be a winner or to be awarded a commendation for the CPD Awards demonstrates an individual’s commitment to undertaking work-based learning and self-directed learning at a high, exemplary standard in order to benefit the quality of their practice and to benefit colleagues, patients, clients or any other users of the service they provide.

As we look forward to the CPD Awards 2018 next year, members of ASE who would be interested in submitting a nomination are advised to start working on evidence for their CPD record right away, ensuring that reflection against activities is well demonstrated, to be able to submit the best possible nomination.
