Job Opportunity: Editor for Science Teacher Education

14 February 2018

Appointment of Editor for Science Teacher Education

ASE invites applications for the position of Editor of Science Teacher Education (STE). This unique subscription online journal is for all those concerned with the pre-service education, induction and professional development of science teachers. The appointment will be for four years in the first instance, commencing on 1st July 2018.

The Editor is responsible, with the help of the Executive Editor, for maintaining the quality of the journal content and developing it in line with the general policy established by the Editorial Board. This involves identifying suitable material, arranging for the refereeing and editing of submissions, and liaising with authors and the Executive Editor to bring accepted items to publication.

The Editor and the Board play an active part in requesting material for STE.

This is an exciting position at a time of great change nationally in the way that teachers are trained and supported in their professional learning. We envisage STE playing an essential and active role within this changing landscape.

The Editor should be an ASE member, have an up-to-date knowledge of initial teacher education and CPD and some writing or editing experience.

This is a remunerated position, equating to approximately 10-15 days a year (depending on experience).

For more details, please contact the Journals Co-ordinator, Jane Hanrott, on

The closing date for applications is 31st March 2018.
