Mind the GAP - a research based approach based on the PASS project

How can we ensure science practical work best supports learning? In this session, Alistair Moore presents findings from recent research that underpin the need to "mind the GAP" by ensuring practical work is "Guided, Active and Purposeful". We will explore the research evidence and some research-informed pilot resources developed by Alistair and his Best Evidence Science Teaching (BEST) colleagues at the University of York Science Education Group to help you plan and implement guided, active and purposeful (GAP) practical activities in GCSE Science.
