Description
This article outlines the advantages of using aquatic invertebrates that are easy to rear and maintain – the brine shrimps, Artemia spp. – for studying animal behaviour with 9-12 year-old pupils. Two suitable investigations are suggested, which use relatively simple apparatus, focusing on behavioural adaptations of brine shrimps to their saltwater habitat in the wild and to their aquarium tank ecosystem in the classroom or laboratory.
