The government's Big Tree Plant campaign which aimed to plant one million trees in English urban areas over a period of four years, claims trees are not only good for our bank balance, but they do wonders for our well-being.
Children will consider how trees impact our lives and whether there is scientific evidence to suggest that trees make us happy.
- to listen and discuss their ideas with others and ask questions relevant to the topic
Children will learn:
- to name and label parts of a plant
- to draw comparisons between a world with trees and a world without trees and write about it
These resources were initially developed in partnership with the Centre for Science Education, Sheffield Hallam University.
