Science on Stage 2026 Festival Application

Application for participation in the European Science on Stage festival

28 – 31 May 2026 in Klaipeda, Lithuania

Please fill out the below form which will be submitted to scionstage@ase.org.uk. Additional material can be sent separately as attachments to that email address. The UK Science on Stage National Steering Committee is responsible for the selection of delegates representing the UK in the Science on Stage Festival 2026.

Organisational aspects
If your project is selected for participation in the European Science on Stage Festival no travel costs can be reimbursed by the Festival organisers. Access to Festival, accommodation, food is covered for the duration of the Festival by the Festival organisers. The Association for Science Education will seek sponsorship towards travel costs but can give no guarantee that this will be successful. It also encourages successful applicants to seek their own sponsorship to cover such costs. Prerequisites You need to be a school teacher (e.g. pre-primary, primary, secondary and colleges. university and research institution teachers/researchers are not eligible.) Project details

The Fair is the main element of the Science on Stage festival, where projects are exhibited at stands.  All successful applicants will have an exhibition stand in the Fair.

(max. 700 characters incl. spaces – approx. 100 words): Please note, that in case of selection this abstract will be published in online and/or print material for the European Science on Stage festival.
Additionally, you can apply to present your project in form of a workshop (approx. 50 minutes duration). If you would also like to present a Workshop during the festival, please include in the project description a brief outline of the workshop you would like to conduct at the festival. Note: The selection of the projects in the category Workshop will be made by the Executive Board of SonSEu. The number of Workshop slots available is very limited. Workshops will be held in English.

Workshop – additional requirement

If you wish your project to be considered for a workshop for the European Science on Stage festival, you must also supply a short video presentation/demonstration of your workshop (<5 mins) demonstrating some of its content and your communication skills.

The above information will be used by the Science on Stage UK National Steering Committee to shortlist projects to represent the UK at the European Science on Stage festival.  If your project is shortlisted you may then be asked to supply a short video demonstration of your project (<3 mins) or participate in a video conference interview where you will be asked to describe or demonstrate some of its content and your communication skills.  Following this the final selection will be made for the UK delegation at the European Science on Stage Festival.
