UCL report on climate and nature in the future curriculum

UCL report cover

UCL’s Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Education, part of the Institute of Education, have this week released a policy proposal setting out their vision for embedding more climate change and nature education in the curriculum.

ASE, as part of the Council for Subject Associations, contributed to the work of the report which was also a partnership with Global Action Plan and the National Association of Environmental Education.

The report comes at an important point for the current Curriculum and Assessment Review (CAR). Two of the key points of the report are:

  1. One of the overarching aims of the national curriculum should respond to the climate and nature crisis.
  2. The aims of every subject in the national curriculum should include a reference to their distinctive contributions to climate change and nature education.

Those interested to hear more about the report can register to attend a free webinar hosted by Global Action Plan on 24th September
