ASE is delighted to announce that Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal has become our new Patron.

This announcement follows a review of the patronages of The late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, ASE’s former and original Patron.

Lynn Ladbrook, CEO of ASE, said:

‘We are absolutely delighted to welcome The Princess Royal as our new Patron. Her Royal Highness follows in her father's distinguished footsteps and brings a legacy of commitment to fostering interest in science education, particularly in relation to young people, as well as women and girls in STEM.’

The late Duke of Edinburgh had been an ardent supporter of ASE for more than 50 years and played a valued role in the growth and success of the organisation since the inception of its current incarnation in 1963, when the Science Masters’ Association and the Association of Women Science Teachers merged to create the Association as it is today.

The ASE recently celebrated 20 years since our Royal Charter was granted.
