ASE South East Asia Conference 2026

The ASE Conference South East Asia is an annual event hosted in Bangkok, Thailand by a network of International Schools. The conference aims to provide world-leading speakers, and for 2026, we are delighted to welcome Professor Louise Archer, President of the ASE and Karl Mannheim Professor of Sociology of Education at UCL London, UK, as our keynote speaker. A variety of workshops covering a wide range of areas within science pedagogy will also be featured.

Conference Programme

The programme is designed by educators for educators, ensuring workshops provide CPD opportunities that are relevant to today’s science teachers and technicians and the context in which they work.

The event also provides an opportunity to:

  • Meet with the region's leading teachers and science resource suppliers.

  • Build a network of supportive connections that will last far beyond the one-day conference.

Who Should Attend

Our 2026 event aims to attract all science educators, whether teaching Year 1 (ages 5–7) through Year 13 (age 18). The conference strives for Excellence in Science Education for All.

Presenters for primary, secondary, and technician audiences are invited to propose sessions using the link provided below.

Technician Strand: Philip Harris

A key focus of the conference is the Philip Harris Technician Strand, led by Jaqueline McKie, which offers science technicians access to high-quality professional learning. Topics include:

  • Storage of glassware and chemicals

  • Practical sessions such as Planck’s Constant or Brownian motion

New for 2026: Additional technician-focused workshops run by technician presenters for technician delegates.

Special Guest: Matt Endean

We are excited to welcome Matt Endean, Deputy Director of CLEAPSS (the leading advisory service in the UK for science and technology), who will present three dedicated workshops throughout the day.
