What is this and who is it for?

The 11-19 committee will draw on their expertise and experience to identiify key areas that are persistent challenges for teachers. In this 30 session they will explore why these challenges are there and how you can overcome them. In this session we will be focussing on misinformation and data literacy.

We will explore how young people can be supported to question and interpret the information they encounter online. The session will examine common features of digital content—from social media posts to articles, infographics, and data visualisations—and consider how these can influence understanding. Participants will discuss practical approaches for strengthening students’ critical thinking skills, helping them recognise unreliable claims, evaluate evidence, and navigate a wide range of online sources with greater confidence.

This will be uesful for all teachers, especially those new to teaching, or those in leadership roles, supporting early career teachers and trainees.

Free to ASE members. £12.50 for non-ASE members.
