Technicians Supporting Students

Are you a technician that regularly engages with students in your schools and college? If you support in practical lessons or STEM clubs, deliver demonstrations, work with SEND students and deal with behaviour inside and outside the classroom then this course can help you feel more confident and able in your role.

This one day course will explore ideas for effective behaviour management, best practice in practical work, questioning strategies, demonstration techniques, group work and working well with teachers and all students. All tailored to technicians who want to or already are working with students more directly.

Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • Work more effectively to support students in the classroom
  • Feel confident in the delivering content and demonstrations
  • Use and evaluate strategies for behaviour and questioning
  • Explore ways to make practical work more effective
