What is this and who is it for?

'New to secondary science' is a series of short webinars designed and developed by our 11-19 committee to share their experience and expertise in key areas that make a real difference in the secondary science classroom. This is perfect for trainee teachers, those early in their career, those new to teaching science, those new to teaching in the UK education system, those returning to teaching or anyone who would just like a refresher! You will leave each session with some top tips you can apply straight away, as well as some ideas for longer term strategies.

In this session, early in the school year, Matt Docking will share his tips on classroom management and behaviour. As an experienced teacher he is able to share his reflections on building routines and relationships, how to apply school behaviour policies and how to use these strategies to make your classroom a positive learning environment for your students.

All sessions are free to ASE members and £12.50 for non-ASE members

ASE is a charity, committed to making support for science teaching as accessible as possible, we are able to do this through the support of our members.

If you’re not already part of the ASE community, we invite you to join ASE for just £45 a year (free to trainees and ECTs in the first 2 years of teaching). This gives you access to CPD (much is free to members), one of our Journals as well as our resources.
